Heidegger explains the central significance of Kant’s “Schematism Doctrine” in the emergence of ontological knowledge in Transcendental Logic in connection with the relation of the pure concepts of understanding to “time,” which represents an ontological concept. He shows how knowledge of beings is constructed on the basis of the image of time through schematization (sensibilization), which implies the connecting of the concept with intuition.
