A Comment On The Change In Modern Political Philosophy
‘Scientizing of Politics’

The concept of scientizing of politics used in this study is not used to ex press political science, nor does it aim to make a determination as to whether politics is scientific or not. The concept was used only to draw attention to the transformation in modern political philosophy. The Modern Era’s elimination of metaphysical foundations in explaining the world of phenomena and science’s turning of attention to the reason and reality itself have also been seen in human investigations in the field of politics. Therefore, the aim of this article is to draw attention to the differences of the modern period from the political philosophies of Antiquity and the Middle Ages, and to comment that modern political philosophy scientizing of politics with its secular, realistic and rational attitude. It can be said that there were two different tendencies in political philosophy in Ancient Times. The first of these can be seen in the tradition of political philosophy put forward by Sophist philosophers. Sophists put forward ideas that guided the moral and political life of human beings. Therefore, their philos ophy is praxis-oriented. With Socrates, political philosophy, which prioritized virtue, aimed at attain the knowledge of the truth and investigated the ideal, came to the fore in the ancient period [...]
