This article aims to examine Foucault’s ideas about Marx and Marxism. Foucault’s relationship with Marx and Marxism is inseparable from the political events of his time. Foucault mentions little of Marx in his texts, except for a short article he wrote in reference to his name. But this does not mean that he has ignored Marx. According to him, good Marx readers will immediately recognize Marx, even though his name is not in Foucault’s texts. In this attitude, criticism of the Marxists of the time also has its share. One of the most discussed issues in France during those years was the question of the possibility of creating a new policy against centralization.
