Two Types Of Faith

Abstract

Here, we present the Turkish translation of 15 th  and 16 th  chapters of Martin Buber’s work titled “Zwei Glaubenweisen”.  In  these  chapters,  Buber  essentially  examines  a historical  change  in faith and belief within Judeo-Christian tradition. Based on this examination, he undertakes a theological-philosophical analyse  of  a  changing fundamental state  between  religious  faith  and  human existence, human life. Through the observation of the historical transition of  the  relation  between  God  and  human from being immediate and direct to being mediated and mediator-based characteristics,  Buber makes  critical evaluations on God and God’s relation with human within Judeo-Christian tradition.  His  evaluations  are  especially important  for  the  religious  development of existential philosophy. In this manner, these chapters whose translation are presented are impactful to the themes of discussions of existentiality in history of philosophy.
