The Relationship Between the World, Lógos, Dialectics, and Liberty in Stoics

The aim of this work is to explore and present Stoic philosophy as a philosophical hypothesis of Hellenistic period as a philosophy of liberty. This feature of Stoicism, unlike the determinative philosophical systems of the classical Athenian period, is also shown with examples that Hellenist philosophy has a general feature in its practical orientations. In this Paper, firstly, it is viewed how Hrisippus criticizes the defense of the institution of slavery, which is common in Ancient Greek philosophy, based on a piece of text that defines every human being as a free being. In order to demonstrate that Stoic philosophy as a philosophy of liberty is a consistent philosophy, there is analysed the approach of Stoic philosophers to issues concerning the liberty of women. In this paper it is claimed that this two-dimensional approach of Stoics to the issue of human emancipation is not a coincidence, on the contrary, it is a condition of man’s liberty as a human being.
